• TikTok’s “Group 7” is the app's latest obsession.
  • Behind it all is musician Sophia James, who launched it to promote her song “So Unfair.”
  • There’s even a real-life meetup being planned for lucky members of the "elite" group.

We love a good TikTok trend, and the latest one taking over our FYPs is Group 7, with everyone from brands to celebrities like Madelyn Cline taking part in the viral moment. Now there's a sentence we thought we'd never type.

But for those who aren't in Group 7, what does it actually mean? And where did the trend come from? Here's everything to know about Group 7 and how to find out which group you're in (and if it's not Group 7, we're really sorry).

What is the Group 7 TikTok trend?

Group 7 kicked off a few days ago when musician Sophia James decided to promote her new song 'So Unfair' and test out TikTok's algorithm, too.

She essentially shared seven videos on TikTok of her new song, along with the words over the video "you are in group [insert number here]". There are seven groups, and she posted the one for Group 7 last.

And in the days since she's posted that, the Internet has collectively decided Group 7 is the one you want to be in, and full of "elite" and "superior" individuals, aka the internet's chosen ones.

How do I know which group I'm in?

Technically, the way to find out which group you're truly in is to wait for one of Sophie's seven videos to pop up on your FYP, and that way, you'll organically know where you belong.

However, given how many more views Group 7 has in comparison to the other 6, it's likely to pop up on your FYP first. But maybe that just means you're meant for Group 7 success?

Where is the Group 7 meet-up?

Since the formation of Group 7, Sophia has now organized a meetup for all of those in Group 7.

The first official meet-up will take place this Friday evening in London at The Bedford Pub in Balham, starting at 8 pm. If you're blessed enough to be in town, you can head to Sophia's website to find out more information.
